Now, I'm rounding up a handful of my favorite items for those of you still on the hunt for the perfect Christmas gift! All items are under $100, and most items are below $50. It can be easier (and cheaper) to shop at big box stores like Amazon and Wal-Mart, but items from such stores often lack quality and uniqueness. Your money disappears into the pockets of a large corporation, not that that's entirely a bad thing. Such companies do, after all, provide hundreds of thousands of jobs (although working conditions and employee treatment may be questionable).

When you shop from a local business, however, you are supporting a real person. One who pours their heart and soul into their business–and who may even be the smiling face behind the counter itself! Who doesn't love that?

But shipping from small businesses can be slow and expensive, you might say. Have you considered curbside pickup? If you live in the Seattle area, many of our local businesses are offering curbside pickup for online orders so you can collect your purchases right away. No waiting around for items to ship. This option is perfect for last-minute shoppers (like me) who often find themselves relying on two-day Amazon Prime shipping because you waited until the week before Christmas to finish your shopping. 

If you aren't local to Seattle, don't worry. Check around for small businesses local to your city and see if they offer curbside or in-store pickup!
