Spring 2018 Target Collections You Should Be Obsessing Over Right Now

In case you haven't popped into a Target store lately or browsed their website (two things that are literally not even possible for me, but I have no self-control when it comes to the hypnotic red bull's eye), several new clothing and accessory collections just dropped for the spring 2018 season and they are GOOD (insert two-handed air high five emoji here). Target's much-anticipated new denim line, Universal Thread, popped up online over the weekend and is now also available in-store as well. I may have already ordered multiple items (like these shoes!!) and am lusting after others, but payday isn't until Friday so I'm out of luck (and money) until then. Target has been teasing the release of the line for several months now and I'm so excited that it's finally here.

So what makes this new denim line such a big deal (other than being something new at Target, of course)?

It's all about the unique design work and the mindful practices that went into crafting the collection. According to Target, each pair of Universal Thread jeans is designed to fit your body perfectly and feel as if they were tailor-made just for you, not matter your body size and no matter how you choose to wear your jeans. Now I love Target, but this feels like a really bold claim to make, especially for jeans that come in at under $30. But hey for jeans that are potentially both comfy and a really great price it's too good to pass up without giving them a try (now I wait for that aforementioned paycheck).

Style aside, Target and Universal Thread Goods Co. did some reaching outside the box and made a very conscious effort to integrate responsible and ethical production methods while crafting this line, something I really appreciate. Certain jean styles feature sustainable pockets (yep!) using a synthetic material called Reprieve-- a polyester made from recycled plastic bottles. How cool is that? In addition, jeans in the collection feature recycled cotton fibers and more naturally-produced finishes. The company has managed to employ a dye process that succeeds in reducing the amount of water, chemicals, and overall energy consumed during production. All things that are good for the environment. I don't know about you, but I am totally here for the line.

One new product launch is news enough, but Target has clearly been incredibly busy, because the spring Who What Wear collection (which pretty much always kills it in the style department) also launched this week with more products to filter in over the next few days. To say that you having shopping options at Target right now is framing things a bit too simply, so if it's been a hot minute since you've last gone on a Target run (teach me your ways!) then now is the perfect time to mosey on over and check out what's new! In case you need a little help sifting through the hundreds of new arrivals, I've rounded up a list of my favorites below!
